Seedle is a two-part initiative that combines a mobile app for real-time hummingbird tracking with a physical Seed Shaker accessory designed to encourage natural habitat restoration for Hummingbirds.

• Hummingbird Migration App: Tracks regional hummingbird activity using aggregated data to guide users on when and where to plant species-appropriate wildflower seeds. Support community engagement. 

• Seed Shaker Accessory: A modular, wearable container that dispenses native wildflower seeds. Each shaker purchase funds local bird conservatories and pollinator restoration efforts.

Design Intentions

• Using Seedle to build a community of citizen scientists and backyard activists.

• The stackable, color-coded shakers allow users to store and organize seeds by bloom season, encouraging year-round planting behavior.

• The app promotes localized action while contributing to a growing map of hummingbird migratory flows.

• Building awareness with birds species. Building a better way to co-exist with other species. 

Future for Seedle?

• The design framework can expand beyond hummingbirds to support other bird and pollinator species in need of microhabitat regeneration.

• Funds from purchasing Seedle will be given to local conservatories.
